Gavin Murray has an established reputation for solving complex property issues, particularly sites within a heritage environment. He leads a range of planning and development projects across the UK, from the masterplanning and urban design of new towns and villages, to historic buildings and private homes. He studied in his native Scotland before moving to London to work at Andrews Downie & Partners, where he worked for six years as an Associate until founding Brooks Murray Architects with Stephanie in 1992.
Stephanie Brooks has established herself and her team as specialists in planning, in particular maximising the potential of sites for residential development, both new-build and conversion. According to the Estates Gazette, by 2018 she had more Permitted Development projects under her belt than any other practitioner. These projects include sensitive Listed Buildings as well as modern office block conversions. Stephanie studied at the University of Cape Town before moving to practice in London, where she met Gavin as an Associate at Andrews Downie and Partners before founding Brooks Murray architects in 1992.
